Darran Gough is a first time author.

His book is the first in a series of recollections and memoirs about his 40 years in the UK fire service.

He has been a retained firefighter for 25 years.

He has also worked in a fire control room for 21 years

And is now in his 17th and final year as a full time firefighter.

Obviously these rolls have overlapped but total 40 continous years of service to the UK community
